Meet two best friends – Jackson and Rupert.
They are both Tibetan terriers.
Jackson, the sable one, is 15 months old and he is a sweet boy, always smiling and enthusiastic. Rupert, the black and white, is 9 months old, he is impulsive, mischievous, feisty and very affectionate. They’re both absolutely lovely and very happy hounds!
Both boys are affectionate, lively, and enthusiastic, and love to run and play together and explore the great outdoors.
This painting was commissioned by Liz for her husband David as a surprise gift for his birthday. Liz wanted the dogs to be on a meadow to create a very summery feel to the painting. I worked with few different pictures to create this artwork and it was quite a challenge for me. There were lots of email exchanges of the dog’s description and photos. But with Liz’s very helpful guidance it looks like I managed to achieve the desired results.
I had the great pleasure of meeting Liz and David and these two absolutely wonderful terriers when they came around to my studio to collect the painting.
David was very touched and happy to receive his birthday surprise gift from his wonderful wife.
“Thank you so much, Irina, for the amazing portrait of Jackson and Rupert. This is the first time I’ve ever commissioned a painting and you made the process so easy from start to finish. It’s fantastic how you created the final composition and all the contextual details from the pics and info I sent. You assured me from the start that you would make any changes necessary to ensure that the portrait was exactly as we’d hoped, and you invited and welcomed feedback. Thank you also for finding just the right frame to present the portrait perfectly. We were both absolutely delighted when we saw the final framed portrait in person and it will take pride of place at home. You are extremely talented and a delight to work with! Thank you from us all. X”
