This pet painting commission of Toffee is a memorial portrait and had been commissioned by Callum as a gift for his fiancée.
Sadly, Toffee had passed away and this portrait of her is created as a memorial to keep alive all the wonderful memories of this beautiful chocolate Labrador.
There weren’t a great selection of photos I could work with and some of them were pretty blurred but getting all the possible references together and with the help of Callum I managed to create a sweet portrait to cherish her memory.
I have a lot of inquiries about memorial pet painting commission and I understand that it is a struggle to find good pictures of the pet sometimes. But I am always happy to go through the images you have and sometimes I work with not the best quality photos. But I always do my very best to create a special artwork for my customers.
A little life story of Toffee was kindly shared by Callum ‘Toffee was rescued from a puppy farm at 9 years old. She was adopted by an elderly gentleman who sadly fell ill, when she was 13. So she came to live with us while he was in hospital, we fell in love with her, so gentle and loving. The gentleman sadly passed away after a few months. So the family asked if we would look after her indefinitely. We jumped at the chance, we had only 2 short years but it was enough. Best dog you ever wish for. Quite, quirky and loving.’
