A custom dog portrait of Ferris was commissioned by Clare as a Christmas gift for her husband.

This handsome English Springer Spaniel is named after the film “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”.

Even though I was expecting it to be good from looking at her previous work, it was even better than I thought it would be. Painting a portrait of Ferris

To create this custom dog portrait I had beautiful photos to work with. The only challenge was to include his paws in the pet portrait. Luckily Clare provided me with additional images to work with. Working with both of the photos I could create a complete portrait of an English Springer Spaniel.

This pastel portrait was created on Clairefontaine Pastelmat with soft and hard pastels and also pastel pencils.

While creating custom pet portraits I pay great attention to details. I think this is a very important thing to do because this is what gives it a true to life, realistic look to my custom pet portraits.

I also offer to all my customers the option of adding a pet’s name to the pet portrait.

I always offer a selection of frames directly from my supplier. Clare chose a lovely grey frame which completed nicely this custom portrait of Ferris.
